Aviagen Strengthens Veterinary Service to Customers, Welcomes New Member of Global Veterinary Team

Dr. Valérie Dekens will help customers in Western Europe continually improve the health and welfare of their Aviagen broiler breeders

Dr. Valerie DekensHUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Aviagen® Global Veterinary Technical team welcomes its newest member, Dr. Valérie Dekens, DVM, M.S. Dr. Dekens will support Aviagen customers throughout Western Europe, helping to enhance the health and welfare of their flocks. Reporting directly to Dr. Nick Dorko, Global Head of Veterinary Technical Services, she began on Jan. 1, and will reside in the Ghent, Belgium, area.

Dr. Dekens comes to Aviagen from Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) Animal Health where, in her most recent position as Technical Service Manager Avian, she supported customers and markets throughout Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, as well as Cyprus, Greece, Portugal and the Nordic countries. She earned a Master in Veterinary Medicine (Industrial Farming) in 2010 and a Bachelor degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2007; all her degrees are from Ghent University in Belgium.
